About Morecambe - Morecambe was created in 1889 when the three villages of Bare, Poulton-le-Sands and Torrisholme united and became known as Morecambe. Morecambe became best known as a traditional UK seaside town in the mid-twentieth century with most of it's visitors coming from Yorkshire and Scotland, and between 1956 and 1989 it was the even home to the Miss Great Britain beauty contest.
Shopping - Morecambe's main shopping area is situated away from the promenade. It includes the Arndale Shopping Centre, Library, New Town Square, Euston Road, Queen Street, Nelson Street, Pedder Street, Anderton Street, Market Street and Victoria Street.

There are also further smaller retail areas around the district.
Things to do - The town centre boasts numerous attractions including a cinema and bowling alley. To its east Happy Mount Park offers a wealth of attractions that will appeal to families and children. Just south of Morecambe is Heysham, one of the UK’s prettiest villages and home to the ancient ruins of St Patrick’s Chapel.
