About Grimsby - The name Grimsby probably originated from the Grim's by, or "Grim's Village". This is based on Grim the Danish Viking, supposedly the founder of the town, with the suffix -by being the Old Norse word for village. The town itself has a population of around 87,589. It is physically linked to the adjoining town of Cleethorpes. Shopping - More than 100 stores, including the major High Street names, can be found in Freshney Place Shopping Centre in the heart of Grimsby. A short walk away is the exclusive Abbeygate Shopping Centre, a must for those who appreciate the finer things in life..
