About Banbury - Banbury is the main town serving North Oxfordshire. The M40 which connected to Banbury in 1990, now provides easy access to London, Birmingham and the North and has made Banbury a very desirable town to be situated in. It has a very interesting history and it is well known for the Banbury Cross of nursery fame and it's delicious Banbury cakes. Shopping - Castle Quay is the main shopping attraction in Banbury. Things to do and Tourst Information - Also in the Castle Quay complex you will find The Banbury Museum. Other places of interest include: The Cross which dates from 1859 when it was erected to commemorate the marriage of Victoria to the Crown Prince of Prussia. Linden House, Opposite the Cross, The White Lion, 19th Century coaching inn. Butchers Row, a street originally lined with butchers stalls, now home to a series of spandrels and ironwork ornaments marking Banbury as an agricultural and market town.
