About Airdrie - Airdrie is a town of 36,000 people in the central belt of Scotland UK. Situated close to Glasgow and Edinburgh it is ideally placed to explore Scotland’s two great cities. Airdrie town centre has changed much in the last ten years with a new road scheme and a shift in emphasis with the type of shopping it offers. Shopping - The shopping experience is slightly limited due to the towns’ size. The local market has just closed down to make way for a new shopping centre. Many locals will make the trip to Glasgow for any major shopping trips as the city offers extensive shopping facilities and is on a par with any major city for choice.
